Designing Custom Illustrations for Author
Criminal by Phoebe Judge, is a podcast about people who have done wrong, been wronged, or maybe have gotten caught somewhere in the middle. Besides listening to her podcast, what if you were tasked to create trilogy book covers of the stories from Phoebe Judge? After doing a lot of research, listening to multiple podcasts, and endless sketches later, these are the final results of the project.
Sketching The Cover
I explored a variety of concept ideas for the first book in the trilogy until I found one that matched the tone of the episode.
Designing The Cover
After picking a concept, the next phase was to design the first book cover and use that same direction to design the other two covers. Since each podcast had a darker theme behind them, I decided to use ink on paper to give it that darker setting.
Final Covers
Using the same design direction from the first book, these are the final results of each cover. I also used ink on paper for the other two covers to keep the same theme.
